Here is what is written in the blog :

This is the story about the search of this older dub. Initially, many researchers thinking that actresses/ singers Eliane Celys and Lunienne Dugard have voiced Snow Whitefor an old version at 30-40's. In both case, these are errors, E. Celys has only singing "Some Day My Prince Will Come" for a music-disc, and L. Dugard has commented a Disc-book.

François Justamand, passionate by dub (he as published a book and administers the blog "La Gazette du Doublage") discovered that wages were paid by Disney at 1938 for many french actors at 1938 for voiced Snow White !
It is obvious that the film was dubbed at 1938 in USA.

In 2012, JB Kaufman published a book revealing that Disney has obtained a special waiver to dub the movie in 1938 in the Disney Studios, despite the French law prohibiting producers fot realize their dub in America. According to Kaufman, this dub has released under the supervision of Stuart Buchanan (the original voice of the hunther).
This is that version that is distributed to "Cinema de Marignan" for the official release.
Greg P., another blogger, found an old article revealing that the actress Christiane Tourneur (the speaking voice of SW in this dub) wanted to become famous in the U.S. after voiced Snow White. This some article confirmed that this version was really released in Disney Studios.

In December 2012, Rémi C. is contacted by a collector which possesses a copy of this dub on coil. This coil belonged to a director who had already tried to restore that version.

After a huge amount of work to fully restore this version. The credit report contains the data sheet with the names of the actors.

After all that work, we can finally discover this version, from a real labor of love.

And I agree, the Tatiana Angelini's version is great, she has a love voice.

I don't understand a word of French, but very interesting nonetheless. Most of the voices were good in my opinion, although I still feel Tatiana Angelini from the first Swedish dub was the best ever voice for Snow White.

Of course I can't say anything about the translation, since I don't understand a single word of it.

The first french dub of Snow White, released in USA in 30-40's, was found ! Rémi, the administrator of the french dub board and the blog "Dans l'Ombre des Studios", got a copy 16m coil by a collector. Here a link to his blog with link Dailymotion (which will be removed in 24 hours) :

It's true that The Black Cauldron was re-dubbed in Sweden in 1998 (for the first VHS release), but it's currently unclear exactly why. It could be because of some sort of rights problem or that someone demanded more money (as was the case with Oliver and Company).

It's also possible the movie was re-dubbed because the original theatrical showings in the 1980's was cut down, with about three minutes of the movie missing (in order to make sure the movie would be admitted for all ages in movie theaters in Sweden), meaning that those three minutes were never dubbed in the 1980's. Therefore, the only option for the VHS release in 1998 was to either dub just those minutes (most likely with different actors) or re-dub the entire movie. Personally, I think the better option would have been to just dub the missing minutes, but it's possible Disney thought otherwise.

Well, I don't actulley know why The Black Cauldron was redubbed, but i think it was something similar to why they redubbed Oliver and Company, in this case, one in the cast wanted more money when the movie was about to be realesed (spelling?) on video. Disney answered with redubbing the whole movie.

About the Disney "The Black Cauldron", if I right understand, Disney has redub this movie in swedish at 1998 because a copyright problem. This case is similar in France about the some movie, redub at 1998 for the some reason (4 voice-actors are re-up, 2 for some characters, 2 for different characters   ::)  ).
It is a strange coincidence.

-And Laurent Pasquier as his official voice since the late 90's. He voiced Mickey in ALL cartoons since, whose "A Christmas Carol" (2003's dub), Fantasia 2000 and Fantasia 1940 (2010's dub), the house of Mickey and Kingdom Hearts Games.

Here a youtube link summarizing all Mickey voices :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4D98mrBoiA

I personally prefer Laurent Pasquier and Marc François (RIP).

Voices of Donald :

-Jaques Bodoin to in FAFF
-Varius unknown actors between 40-70's

Citat från: Mozeru skrivet 17 februari 2013 kl. 11:26:28
Hello, forgive me for late reply

Minnie Mouse as mainly voiced by Marie-Charlotte Leclaire since the 90's. Mrs. Leclaire is mainly known for being the voice of Minnie in France but she as also the third voice of Tania in American Tail and she as voiced Mei, the little sister in Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro.

I do not remember which voiced Minnie before the 90's, many actresses voiced her once and many cartoons are redubbed in 90's and 2000's with M.C. Leclaire.

Nice, thanks, and what about Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy? (Aren't Goofy called Dingo in France or is he called that in Italia?)

CitatApart from that, the Pastoral Symphony segment also has a couple of scenes censored since 1969, in order to remove a somewhat stereotyped black centaur

Yes, it was also because of this that Disney has remade the soundtrack so that the music corresponds to the transition of cut scenes. I like the Stokowski score, but the Kostal's version is most epic.

I do not know which version was broadcast in France between the years 50-70. The first dubbing is either lost or owned by Disney.

I agree that it is unfortunate that the Irwin Kostal score is pretty much impossible to get hold of; it was indeed beautiful although I have nothing at all against Leopold Stokowski's original score either.

It is currently unclear whether any Swedish dub was made of Fantasia in the 1940's. We haven't been able to find any information about this. The first version I know of is from 1960 (or possibly 1958), with Bo-Teddy Ladberg as narrator. Then we have the 1985 re-dub and finally the new dub of the extended version in 2011 (probably the same Roadshow version that you got in 2010).

Strangely enough both the 1960 and 1985 re-dub in Sweden consist only of a narrator, where the lines of Mickey Mouse and Leopold Stokowski are kept in English (without subtitles). Those lines were dubbed for the first time in 2011 for the extended version.

The original Roadshow version from 1940 is the only version of the movie where the narrator (Deems Taylor) is visible on screen, and that version was originally only used for the original US Roadshow exhibition. That version has now been restored to a very similar (although not 100% identical) version, which has been released on DVD.

Unfortunately, there are a bunch of different versions of Fantasia floating around, which is probably a part in the need for so many dubs. The most common version nowadays (totalling 1 hour 55 minutes) was made in 1946, and was the version most commonly used in the 1960's as well as the 1990 restoration. The 1985/1986 version with the new soundtrack used a different narrator in the original US version, but was otherwise pretty similar to the 1946 version. I'm not sure which version was used originally in Sweden, when it premiered in 1943.

Apart from that, the Pastoral Symphony segment also has a couple of scenes censored since 1969, in order to remove a somewhat stereotyped black centaur. Originally cut using physical cuts and later on removed via zooming in of the scenes in question. Nowadays, those scenes are reanimated with the black centaur removed from otherwise untouched images.

Thank you for answering  :)

In France, the film also seems to have different versions : A first dub in 40's with a unknown cast
Probably many dubs among 60's-70's
The 1986's dub with the Kostal's soundtrack
The 1990's dub including the original Stokowski score with François Perrier for the narration. This dub has released on all video and TV editions
And a new version in 2010 for a extended version

That's unfortunate than the Kostal score has rejected. I had the opportunity to listen it and this version is beautiful.

Yes, the theatrical re-dub of Fantasia in 1985 was with the new score by Irwin Kostal.

To my knowledge, that version has never been released on VHS, DVD or television. Instead, the VHS releases and first DVD release was with a newly remixed version; with the narration/cast from the 1985 redub but with the original music conducted by Leopold Stokowski replacing Irwin Kostal's score. That special version has never been shown in theaters.

The latest DVD and Blu-Ray release from 2011 is of the original restored Roadshow version, and therefore the movie had to be redubbed again; as the Roadshow version has never been released in Sweden before 2011.

I have a question about swedish dub for Disney's Fantasia :
http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasia

On this wiki link, I seen that this great movie was redub in 1986. Is it including the Irwin Kostal reorchestration ? Is this version was distributed on VHS or television ?

In France the movie was also redub in 1986 with the Irwin Kostal version, but only for theatrical release with an unknown cast and without video editing, like in USA.

Great news for Asterix fans : Roger Carel, who had recently retired, occasionally out of retirement for voiced Asterix in the next animated film, "Asterix and the Domain of Gods" :

Roger Carel has voiced Asterix in french in all animated movies since 1967.
